ColorFul Idlis Ingredients 1.Rice parboiled 3cups 2.Urad Dal 1cup 3.Chopped Carrots 1/2cup 4.Chopped Capsicum 1/2cup 5.Salt 6.Oil Method 1.Soak rice and dal for 4-6hrs 2.Grind them to smooth paste and mix well.Let it ferment overnight 3.After fermentation add the chopped vegetables,salt and mix well. 4.use the idli maker/stand to make round idlis .Grease the plates with ghee before adding the batter. 5.Steam for about 10minutes and serve warm with coconut chutney and sambar. Cooking tip:Idlis can also be made with Idli Rava instead of Parboiled Rice.In which case there is no need to grind the Rava but it has to be soaked in water for atleast 4hrs before mixing with the ground dal. |
