The offspring of a female formed Sacrilege and very masculine Masque, Transience was and continues to be Zekira's only truly fertile and fully functional hermaphrodite! It is also pretty clear that Transience is Hyperfertile, as every year shhee goes into a raving heat of sorts, and woe betide the partner that gets picked!
Transience accurately describes this person, shhee is usually in some kind of flux of shape, be it between "four arms, or two arms and wings?" or "should I have this tail longer or keep it under six feet long?" Shhee also has the ability to control living matter, usually concentrating on those that are organic in nature (rather than plant life or other stranger things). Shhee can use every sense in the book, but loves every minute of it's addiction to feeling.
Transience's form always changes, even though some things remain basically constant: shhee has vibrant brown skin with white and light green small spots in patterns, very long graphite colored hair kept in a tail at its back, very long ears with many earrings in them, and with a sort of cheetah-pattern to its facial markings. Often with more than four normal limbs, shhee usually has a very long tail, with a tuft of graphite fur at the end. Sometimes adding wings, often in brilliant white.
Transience refuses to wear clothing. Shhee simply says, "you try getting clothes that shapeshift with you..."
Since she was born in White Valley, she had rarely known Zekiran society while still young. However, after the Outsiders were thrown into the mix, she that she belonged with them. She and Kaalkin have a son, named Sensorium, who is also immortal.
Transience loves life. Shhee goes through every new world with a sense of awe and pleasure, and is always willing to go a distance which most others won't, even to the point of true physical torture to arrive at a certain goal. Shhee has been known to weather volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and floods, only to come out of it with some new pet attached to its tail or a relic of a long-dead civilization tucked between two arms.
Shhee loves society, and though shhee is over several million years old at any given junction, any society intrigues it to the point of madness. Shhee is extremely intelligent, remarkably social, and stupendously courageous, making Transience ideal to throw out to test the waters of any society. Plus, shhee can shapeshift into something more mundane at will, to blend in more successfully.
Transience will pick up any little critter and befriend it, keeping it healthy and loving it until it passes. Shhee remembers almost everything shhee has encountered, names and places, people and events. Shhee is responsible for commemorating worlds.
It's quarters are warm, friendly, and crammed full with memories.
Transience has named this Earth-elemental female Quer, for some reason the markings on her fur remind one of a question mark, well, they remind Transience of them...
Quer is curious, stable, and gets into an awful lot of things in Transience's quarters. There will probably be a Melcey Pack addition to the ship, if things go right, and Quer seems pretty happy about that!
