Here are some of the reviews that encouraged me to buy my Suzuki RG125F.

Bike- "124cc, 12hp. Very cool if you're stuck on L-plates. Up Side Down Forks, banana swing-arm, full race fairing. Rock."

Used Motorcycle Guide- "92-96, 124cc l/c 2-str single 12hp, 80mph, 55mpg, 280lb. Sophisticated and expensive stroker in full blown race-rep mode. Rather silly in 12hp form with a chassis that makes little sense below 70mph, but can be tuned to around 30 horses without exploding. Usual learner abuse and exuberance, crash-repaired examples can turn out both expensive and deadly. Signs of a dying engine are rattles, knocks, excessive smoke and stuttering power flow."

Second Hand Bike- "Looking more like a 250 than a 125, the RG has a bigger bike feel than the TZR. The handlebars are comfortable enough but i found the footpegs to be a little to far forward for my long legs. Instrumentation is good, though the rev counter could be trimmed down a bit. Suzuki's RG seems to have coped with its derestriction better then the Yam, feeling noticeably quicker all through the rev range. The RG behaves inpeccably on the road, with steering and handling just perfect allowing the bike to be ridden flat out just about everywhere, the upside-down teles at the front and the rising rate monoshock at the rear working in perfect harmony. Brakes provide stopping power way beyond the call of duty, the front disc being squeezed by a four piston caliper and capable of stopping something twice the weight, and in all in all confirm the RG as the best all-round handling bike of the lot. Suzuki's RG just seems to do everything a little better than the Yamaha's offering. The handling is definitely superior and the motor feels slightly stronger all through the rev range despite their identical outputs. Dont get the idea that the TZR is a turkey 'cos it ain't, its just that the RG is so good, you'd never feel happy with the Yamaha having ridden it." (Issue 21 December 94)
