Breast Cancer Awareness & Education

On behalf of ZTA, the Foundation has donated more than $1.6 million to Komen for the Cure since 1992. Additionally, more than 5,000 Zetas volunteer in excess of 50,000 hours each year to support the more than 100 Race events nationwide. Zeta Tau Alpha facilitates its local efforts through a ZTA Race Reps at each Race. Every year, Komen with the help of Zetas, distribute dollars back into communities to help people with little or no helath insurance received breast cancer education screening, treatment and treatment support.

ZTA began an association with Susan G. Komen for the cure in 1992 when it became the first national sponsor of the Race for the Cure's National Series Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program. Since that year, ZTA has continually served as a national sponsor of the Survivor Recognition Program.    ZTA provides the pink t-shirt and caps for the survivors    ZTA provides "In memory," and "In celebration" back signs    ZTA provides educational items literature    ZTA provides volunteers at the race and pre-race events. ZTA's are everyone...all of our Southern California Alumnae Chapters particpate in the race for the Cure events that are held in Calfiornia each year.
