ACCEPTABLE Wan Fu Taipei South Shun Lee Palace China House

On this page: restaurants that are of acceptable quality, that I enjoy eating at, but not quite the best of the best.  Also good restaurants like Wan Fu that I've been to only once.

Is it great?  No.  Is it good?  Yes.  Is it cheap?  Yes. That's all you really need to know.  Taipei South is tucked in a shopping center along upper Johnston Road, kind of out of sight, behind Burger King. It is one of three Lucy Chen-owned restaurants in Charlotte, along with Taipei Express and House of Taipei.

Robert Lee Kettering Drive Next to Nakato and Bailey's on Rt. 51, between Park and Johnston 95.0 - 12/17/03 Moderate ($7)

The owner of Wan Fu sunk a chunk of change into a gorgeous        building, a replica of a traditional Chinese building.  You'll know what I mean when you see it, for it's a sight in and of itself -- and the inside is ornate as well.  The food met with approval as well.  Think of it as P.F.Chang's but cheaper, better, and more Chinese. I've only been there the once, so I'm not putting Wan Fu on the Recommended list, but I'll likely be going back in the next few months.

Shun Lee works for me.  I haven't been there in a long time, but I have no reason to dislike it.  Fairly fancy, definitely date-worthy.

China House I believe China House has both a lunch buffet and sit-down ordering.  While nothing stands out about it -- it's fairly Americanized -- China House is certainly Acceptable.
