CM Expresses Condolences to America Chief Minister John Osborne has sent a message to US President George W. Bush expressing great shock about last Tuesday’s terrorist attack in New York and Washington.
Terrorists hijacked four planes, two of which slammed into the World Trade Centre and another into the Pentagon.

Mr. Osborne says this is an occasion of deep mourning not only for the people of America but the entire world.
He says the fact that so many Montserratians in the time of our volcanic crisis found a home in the United States, bears testimony to America’s generosity and friendship.

Mr. Osborne states that it is with a deep sense of loss that he conveys to President Bush and his administration and the People of America, his own condolences and those of the Government and People of Montserrat.

The police have made two significant arrests. A young man from Look Out was arrested in connection to the break-in at the Bank of Montserrat.
He has been charged with burglary. The break-in two weeks ago revealed that little of value was stolen but customers were inconvenienced for several hours.
In the other case Brian Hollinder, a well-known landowner was arrested and charged for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Police first became involved after he allegedly threatened his wife.
He reportedly had four high calibre weapons that were not licensed.
The police are warning bus drivers from blocking the road when discharging passengers.
According to several reports some drivers, especially those dropping off children at the Catholic School in Woodlands, blocked the traffic by turning across the road.
The Police say they appreciate the good intention of drivers but this practice is dangerous and could cause accidents for which drivers may be liable.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Simon Morson says this causes an obstruction to the free flow of traffic.
He is recommending that bus drivers make the turn onto Palm Loop and drop the children at the school’s southern entrance.
