Okay, so I'm a big journal slacker...a month has passed, so you're thinking what's the point.  Well lots of news to report.  I'm graduating in ELEVEN DAYS!!  It's hard to believe.  The last year and a half has FLOWN by.  Of course, that means it will be at least 13 days until my next journal entry seeing as I have a semiformal gala to plan, a dress to buy, a thesis to print and publish and 40 hours to work a week.  Oh yeah, and I suppose I should get some sleep between now and then too, eh?

So how about that game yesterday?  God, what a disappointment.  WHat's even more disturbing is that I'm actually talking about football on my website...sigh... complete and utter exhaustion has set in.

Oh yeah: for those of you that didn't receive the mass emails, my email address has changed.  You can now reach me at either
Dream4AnNsomniac@hotmail or msn.com As always my screenname will remain the same.

Thomas and I decorated for Christmas on Friday night..we're just proud the tree is still standing up cuz neither of us was able to by night's end.  Good idea: getting drunk on a Friday night.  Bad idea: mixing liquor and two pitchers of beer and then getting on Later Gator.  For an Irish guy, Blondie sure can't hold his liquor.  I spent the whole tailgating ordeal utterly exhausted, and a little hung oveer but more just lacking sleep from making sure he didn't throw up on my satin sheets.  Sigh.

Anyhoo, that's probably gonna be it for now.  I've got a dress to sew and about 4 weeks worth of human growth bullshit to get through before I can sleep tonight.  Guten Abend Alle!!

So I've noticed a disturbing trend over the past couple years...

Two years ago (undergrad senior year) Slade has the traditional Hootinanny.  The next day I'm diagnosed with Mono.

Last year (1st year of grad school) Slade has the traditional Hootinanny.  I miss it because I'm in the hospital.

This year (graduating in 6 DAYS!!) Slade has the traditional Hootinanny.  I'm down with a wretched cold.

I think the hootinanny is a curse.

Just my two cents...Oh and did I mention  I'M GRADUATING IN SIX DAYS?!?!?!!!!!

Only 2 things to say:

1--FOUR DAMN DAYS

2--Shawn and I are NOT having an affair...

If I didn't think it was possible to be more exhausted than I was on Friday, I was wrong--and I've done almost nothing but sleep for the past 2 days.  Graduation was long but fun even though I was really sad to say goodbye to people who have grown to be some of my best friends over the last couple years.  It was of course the longest graduation ceremony EVER.  We had to be there at 7:45 and didn't leave until 11:30 or so.  Governor Bush spoke which was just SO cool, and it was an awesome speech.  I got to shake his hand as I walked across the stage, and I wanted to say something profound.  I ended up just saying "thank you, sir" because anything else would have come out as "huh-huh, huh-huh, durrrr...thanks Jeb."  Anyway headache, work tomorrow, must sleep...man does the real world suck or what?  I gotta find something else to get a degree in and fast!

The tradition continues and the guest list is growing--hurray!  Geez, ya know, you have a new years party every year for like EIGHT years and then when it has the potential to be the last one...everyone wants to be there...I'm gonna have to buy a lot of alcohol this year...

There is something to be said for the New Year's Tradition however.  I don't know what it is about alcohol and the purity test that makes the evening so magical, but it truly is a great and unique experience...

I'm just happy the oldies are coming back this year.  Ryan did a good job of reading the purity test last year, but no one has quite the *flare* for it that Avi does.

Anyway, I hope that those of you traveling have safe trips and I will see you at New Years...even if I don't remember it the next day.
