TOYS IN THE ATTIC

Lyrics:

(Steven Tyler, Joe Perry)

In the attic,
Lights,
Voices scream,
Nothing seen,
Real's a dream

Leaving the things that are real behind
Leaving the things that you love from mind
All of the things that you learned from fears
Nothing is left for the years

Voices scream,
Nothing seen,
Real's a dream

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Lights,
Voices scream,
Nothing seen,
Real's a dream

Leaving the things that are real behind
Leaving the things that you love from mind
All of the things that you learned from fears
Nothing is left for the years

Voices scream,
Nothing seen,
Real's a dream

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

Toys, toys, toys,
In the attic

"A benchmark rock n roll song for Aerosmith-that kind of fast tune that was always a favorite of mine. This was sort of the first one. There were many more to follow."
-Joe Perry

Toys in the Attic is ofcourse the title track off the album Toys in the Attic. It was recorded at Record Plant Studios in NYC on Feb. 1975. It has a running time of 3:05 and was produced by Jack Douglas. Toys has both slide and acoustic guitars on the track as well as the lead electric.

"I wrote the origional riff to Toys in the Attic at Black Angus Studios, Andy Paley's converted barn off route 9 in Ashland, which is where we worked with Jack on that album before we moved it to the Record Plant. This is where we started to come into our own in the studio, using it as our palette, writing more in the studio as apposed to them just turning on the machines for us to play. We started becoming recording artists instead of having our albums be a record of us playing live." -Joe Perry, Walk This Way pg. 228
