Les, thank you for all your work on the Buckalews and many of their descendants. we are enjoying it.

Your Buckalew information is great. I am printing all of it and it is like a book. Bud and I found Jacob's military information in a book from Muskington County, Ohio at our Denver regular library. Then I sent for Jacob's 1812 Military records, learned Mathias and Jacob were both prisoners of War, learned when Jacob married Ann Buckalew (the Illinois Fulton County book had said she was
"Buckley" and we were searching for Buckleys). I learned Jacob first got land in Fulton County, 2nd got land in Bremer Co Iowa where he died from an injury. I had a friend in the area who found his grave, there is a young James Madison Bevard (Civil War ) buried beside him (grandson?) I learned when Ann died in Marion County Iowa 1888 but I never found her death record or grave. So, I checked Marion County for Buckalew family - thinking she died near or with her family -
there I learned Parker Buckalew did move there from Ohio! He was Post Master.
