On 12 September 1844 when Jesse was 20, he first married Mary Bailey/baley, in Pike Co., MO.
Jesse deeded his land to her before he went to the Civil War; she pd tax in 1862. She and husband, Jesse, paid in 1863 &4. Have not found them in 1865 tax roll.
In June 1865 when Jesse was 41, he second married Nancy (Giddings) Litchfield.
