Introduction

Hi. We're Erv and Gina. Being newly retired, we spend a lot of our time traveling and enjoying new experiences. We created this page so that all of our old friends and our many new friends can keep track of our escapades. Hopefully, you will find our adventures fun and the information helpful. Erv is an avid diver and has dived for 15 years. He holds an instructor rating and has dived in a variety of places. Read his many reports on his dive trips before you go on your next vacation. We have traveled extensively in Honduras, Guatamala, and Belize - hiking, getting around on "chicken buses", taking Spanish immersion classes, and just having fun. Pick up some hints for your next excursion. We are relatively new at using our RV for extended periods of time. Read about our experiences and send us any handy hints you may have acquired. E-mail us and let us know what you think of our page, or any comments or questions you have about our trips.

Biographical Information

Okay little background. Erv spent 22 years in the Navy as a pilot, flying off carriers and seeing the world. After retirement, he went to work for a well known Aerospace Company and then retired again 11 years later on his 55th birthday. Gina spent 27 years with the Department of Defense in research and development. She traveled extensively, loved her job, but when they offered early retirements - she was out of there. She was only 48 and considered herself (and still does) very lucky to retire at an early age in mind, body, and spirit.

We're very different in a lot of ways: Erv tends to be a vegetarian - Gina, of course, loves a good steak. Erv is lean and very trim - Gina, of course, is NOT. Erv jogs - Gina, walks. In all fairness to Gina, she spends an hour in aerobics class 5 days a week, swims a half mile 2 days a week, and takes a spin (cycling) class 3 days a week. She has also hired a personal trainer and works out with weights - she just looks like she doesn't do anything but sit on the sofa and watch TV.

But we both love to travel and enjoy new experiences - from glitzy hotels in Manhattan to tiny hovels with no electricity or running water in Guatemala. Flying first class around the globe or backpacking through Central America - we are up for it....Life is short - enjoy every minute.....
