Areas of Specialization


Prairie View A&M University offers most of the content areas for secondary education (grades 6-12) with the exception of English as a Second Language (ESL) and Special Education.

The following secondary teaching fields require 24 hours of course work (12 of which must be upper division coursework):

The following secondary teaching fields require 48 hours of coursework (24 of which must be upper division coursework with at least 12 hours in one field and 6 hours in each of the other fields depending on the particular composite):
