Entry Requirements
Hold a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning with a cummulative 2.5 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 system; (Foreign transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency). You can calculate your GPA here. Have twenty-four (24) or fourty-eight (48) semester hours with a 2.5, or above GPA in the requested certification area. You can calculate your GPA here. Pass the math, reading, and writing sections of the state-mandated basic skills test (TASP). Be recommended by a screening committee for admission to the program. Pass oral and written proficiency exam in Spanish (TOPT)-(only for bilingual applicants). Secure employment in a teaching position with a school district.NOTE: Being accepted into the ATCP does not guarantee employment by a school district.
