Conyers Family News Now "Online"

Welcome to the online Conyers Family News. If you are a Conyers or descendant of a Conyers, this is YOUR family newsletter. It is the official family newsletter of the Conyers Family Association, a national family club for all descendants of the Conyers family. We will be working on the newsletter in the coming weeks and hope you find it informing as well as entertaining. Keep coming back often but be patient while the work is going on to add information and features.

Our family newsletter will have current news, obituaries, births, weddings, engagements anniversaries and articles on family history. We plan to add special columns, articles on history, weddings, engagements, births, a special feature on "Know Your Cousins" with an article about a different Conyers cousin every issue and other features.

We NEED YOUR HELP: when you hear about a death, birth, marriage, engagement or other news in the family, please let us know. If you see an obituary, wedding notice or other news article about a Conyers relative in your local newspaper, please clip it out, along with the name and date of the paper from the top of the page and send to us to preserve in our Family Library as well as to print in the family newsletters.

If you are looking for ancestors, you can post a message/query in the query section so that other relatives might be able to help you find those unknown ancestors or even missing living relatives. Click on "QUERIES" below.

REUNIONS

If your branch of the family is planning a reunion PLEASE let us know so we can have a story about it. Send complete details, including the dates, time and place (and directions of how to get there if in a rural area); name, mailing address, telephone number and, if available, email address of person to contact for more information. If it is an annual event, send some history of the reunion: when and where it began, where all it has been held, who started it, the name of the ancestor of the group and other details.

AFTER the reunion, let us know the details so we can write a story about it in the family newsletter: how many attended, who traveled the greatest distance, how many states were represented, the oldest and youngest there, entertainment, history programs and other details. If you have a reunion committee, let us know the names and hometowns of your officers.

SCHOOL NEWS . . .

If your kids are graduating from high school or college, please let us know the details and their future plans. If your child makes the academic honors roll, is elected to a school office; plays in sports or other school news, let us know so we can put it in the family newsletters.

Justin Shines for Missouri state college

COLUMBIA, Missouri-- Justin David Conyers has been attending college at a State College in Warrensberg Missouri. While Justin has been in school there, still maintaining his 4.0 GPA. Another college has been trying to recruit Justin! He has accepted an offer for a scholarship to attend school at Westminster University of Fulton, Mo., a very prestigious school founded in 1851. He has also accepted the position of quarterback for the university's football team. Justin is a fine athlete and upholds fantastic academics. The entire family is very very proud of him. Justin tells me that he isn't quite sure if he will "fully" accept the position of quarterback for the team, due to the fact that there are many positions he enjoys playing. He won't be able to make that decision until he sees the team and has a chance to meet and play on the field with them. He may find that someone else is more suitable for that position than he...very commendable and admirable. Justin isn't out for himself, he views the team as a whole. No matter what position he plays, we are still just as proud and happy for him as we always have been and always will be.

Justin David Conyers is the son of Michael David Conyers and his wife Sherri Jean Hays. He has a younger brother, Joshua Dean Conyers. Michael is one of five sons of David Dean Conyers and Coe Ann Bailey, including Mark Allan Conyers, Steven Wade Conyers, David Nelson Conyers and Christopher James Conyers.

This branch of our family was originally from Kirksville, Missouri. David Dean now resides in Columbia, as does Christopher and Michael. Mark still lives in Kirksville, along with Steven, with his son Cory Allan Conyers. David Nelson lives in Overland Park, Ks. With his two sons Ryan and Quinton.

Our congragulations to you Justin, on your successful football record and we all wish you more success in your college studies and a wonderful life to come.

[The above info was sent in by Justin's uncle, Christopher who said he is very proud of his nephew, who is "not only a great athlete, but a fantastic academic student as well". He added "I love you Justin, you have made your Uncle Chris very, very proud."]
