Let the rest of the world help you!

Welcome to the Morgan Family Club's family queries section, devoted to messages - queries from kinfolk who are searching for a Morgan ancestor or living relatives.

Let us help you: if you are looking for a Morgan ancestor or a living relative, you can post your own personal message/query here. You may luck up and find a distant cousin who has already found the information you are seeking and that elusive ancestor. Or you may find other relatives you may not have known about.
This is what our site is all about--trying to create a central "clearing house" of information on all our families so we and future generations won't have to waste time duplicating each other.

READ this carefully

TIP for preparing a query: give as much information as you can . . .

about your ancestor. The more information you include with your query, the better the chance of someone else being able to "link up". If you don't know dates, then estimate a time period ("1760's"; or abt "1810", etc.)

One-liner queries usually don't get much response because there isn't enough info for anyone to make a connection; try to provide as much data as you can. A request for info on "John Morgan" isn't going to get much since there have been many--in every state.

Remember -- someone else might not know about your ancestor but they may know about a brother or sister and thus be able to help you make a connection.

LOOK at the queries and FOLLOW the style they are written in. Use standard dating (day, month, year); do NOT type in all capital letters; type ONLY personal names in capital letters. Use the abbreviations listed below (it helps save space). Put "Johnson Query" in the "SUBJECT" box of your message.

= NOTE =

* * * You MUST include your name and complete mailing address * * *
and an email address if available, when you send your query. Your mailing address will not be posted if you request. NO query will be considered without your name and address

To post a query: follow the guidelines above and send it as an email by clicking on the email address below; or you can send it by "regular" mail to the mailing address below.

Members of the Morgan Family Club may post queries free for an indefinite period. Non-members may post queries for a brief period.

ca 1732

Searching for ancestors of SARAH MORGAN, b. ca 1732, purportedly in Pennsylvania. She was the dau. of JOHN MORGAN and SARAH LLOYD. Her aunt (John's sister) was also named SARAH MORGAN and reportedly the mother of DANIEL BOONE. According to info I have collected, Sarah mar. COLBERT BLAIR (b. 1730 Bucks Co., PA.; d. 1805 Caldwell Co., North Carolina). They later settled in North Carolina. My info also indicates they had a dau., TABITHA ISABEL BLAIR, b. 13 Dec., 1761, Burke Co., NC--d. d 15 May, 1855 in Henderson Co., TN. Tabitha mar. JOHN GRIDER of NC and is buried with him in the Grider Cemetery, Henderson Co., TN. I have not been able to find Tabitha on any list of Colbert and Sarah Morgan's children. On a web site which listed burial information on BLAIR family members, I found the reference: "Isabel (BLAIR) GRIDER probably the daughter of Colbert BLAIR." No mention was made of Sarah Morgan. I'm concerned that since I don't know when Sarah Morgan died, that there is a possibility Colbert Blair may have remarried and that Tabitha is not Sarah's daughter at all. Any help on this family will be appreciated.
