HERMAN ("Bert") ODOM
8th Air Force, WW II, station in England

I am trying to trace an US Airman, HERMAN ("Bert") ODOM, who was in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, stationed in Warton near Blackpool, England in 1942. He was part of the ground crew. Unfortunately I do not have his US Army number. I am writing this letter on behalf of my Aunt Hilda who met him in Warrington, Lancashire and knew him as "Bert". It has been her life long dream to make contact with him again. I do not have very much information to give you, only that he had a brother called HARRY, who taught in a local school in Era, Tx. Bert (Herman) asked my aunt to marry him. When he went to Paris he bought her an emerald engagement ring and sent her the air fare to Texas which she never used. Her mother (my Grandmother) would not let her go because she was only 18 years old. My aunt has told me she has regretted this all her life and wants to contact Bert if he is still alive to make her peace with him before she dies. I know that if we do contact him it will be his decision as we would not wish to cause any problems with his present family. Thank you for your time and assistance.

I am looking for info on relatives of my great grandfathers relatives, JOHN H. ODOM (1 May 1907) who mar JOHNIE L. RETHERFORD (b 3 Apr 1907). They had 6 living ch and one dau that died after birth. If you may know anything of his relatives. Thank you very much.

LYDA ODOM Sr.
of Tx.

My name is Billy Gene Odom and I was born in Post, Texas; I have been researching the Odom family, especially descendants of DAN ODOM and his wife IDA LILLIAN HOLLINGSWORTH, for the last 4 years and so far I haven't made a lot of headway. I could sure use some help because I am not getting very much help from relatives these days. My dad was LYDA ODOM Jr. (nicknamed "Pooner"), son of LYDA Sr., married to AGNES DORA PAYNE in 1921 (Post, Tx.). If anyone could help me from this point on, I would appreciate it very much.

MARION ODOM
ca 1875 -- ca 1970 Ms.

MARION ODOM died about 1970 at the age of 95+. Lived in Attala Co., Ms. and was known as "Buck Shot"; second marriage to LELA MAY. Any one know any of his history he was 72 when I was born so am not familar with any of his past. thanks
