Site Reconstruction News
I am currently developing our new site and it will be ready quite soon.
I hope you will enjoy it. If you have any ideas and tips for the site, please leave a message in the forum. I would love to hear from you.
The new web address is:

Thank you, Susan Stanley.
This
site is dedicated to a wonderful author. Gladys Taber was born in Colorado
Springs in 1899, but since her parents were New Englanders, she early learned
to say she was really from Massachusetts.
She graduated from Wellesley
College, later received her Master's Degree from Lawrence College. For a
number of years she followed a teaching career, but creative writing soon
claimed all her time. Her short stories appeared in practically every major
magazine in America.
Her first novel, Late
Climbs the Sun, was published in 1934. In November 1937, her column "Diary
of Domesticity" began in Ladies' Home Journal, where it appeared for many
years. By then she had her roots down again in New England on "forty acres,
more or less" of good stony Connecticut soil, and it was here at Stillmeadow,
in Southbury where she wrote her most memorable books. Over the years, her
beautiful old farmhouse was a happy home to the family and to a kennel full
of cocker spaniels, Irish setters, and Siamese, Abbysinian and Manx
cats.
