Bren, from the moment he woke up from cryo, was very disciplined and regulative (his first line on the series was, "Commander Bren reporting for duty."). He, like Gret, always considers the mission before doing anything, but is also loyal to his cremates (although he fights with them like everybody else, too).

Occasionally, Bren gets resentive of the fact that the fate of the human race was placed in the hands of a civilian crew, which is one of the main sources of conflict between him and the rest of the crew. He also does not hold too much respect for Gen.
