The Myth Of Hades....
Hades is the brother of Zeus. After the overthow of their Father Cronus he drew lots with Zeus and Poseidon, another brother, for shares of the world. He had the worst draw and was made lord of the underworld, ruling over the dead. He is a greedy god who is greatly concerned with increasing his subjects. Those whose calling increase the number of dead are seen favorably. The Erinnyes are welcomed guests. He declines the request for his visitors leave the underworld once they have came.
He is also the god of wealth, due to the precious metals mined from the earth. He has a helmet that makes him invisable. He rarely leaves the underworld. He is unpitying and terrible, but not capricious. His wife is Persephone whom Hades abducted. He is the King of the dead but, death itself is another god, Thanatos.
In the beginning all was chaos, just before the time of the belief Christ and Satan, a great hollow Void, in which the seeds or beginnings of all things were mixed up together in a shapeless mass, all moving about in all directions. By degrees these beginnings
slowly sorted themselves out; the heavier parts gathered together and became Earth; the lighter parts flew and became the sky, with air between; and under the earth was a dark place called Tartarus or Underworld.
As far as heaven is high above the earth, so deep is the Underworld. Nine days and nine nights a stone would fall from heaven to earth; nine days and nine nights it would fall from earth to the deep Underworld.
A brazen wall runs around it, and brazen gates close it in; there many rebelious Gods were imprisoned, such as Cronus (who swallowed his children in hatred-but forced to puke them back up later). The "bad" Gods & Goddess's were gaurded by the Cyclopes and the three hundred-handed monsters. A fearful watchdog gaurds the gates, his name; Cerberus, with three heads and three gaping, fanged mouths. When anyone goes in, Cerberus, fawns upon them and licks their hands with his three tongues; but if anyone tries to get out, Cerberus attacks and devours him.
There, Night and Day meet together and greet one another, as brothers, and children of the Night. Sleep can wander about earth forever, capturing men, but lets them go. But Death, once a hold of a man, it never lets go again, for there is no pity in his heart...he then brings them to Haden.
In the dark Underworld, where the banished dwell, is the God of dark Tartanus, Hades. (Pronounced, Hay-deez), and as the son of Cronus, Zeus became the God of Heaven, and of every man, women and child; BUT the Earth belonged to all the Gods & Goddess'....
