Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been on the air for 5 seasons now going into its 6th season soon, "I don't think it really hit me until we all cut into that cake. I mean, I've been here since five this morning. I've been working. It's one more episode; it's the next one to go; it's the next good script we do. And all of a sudden, it hit me: five years, 100 hours of television. It's really incredible." -Sarah Michelle Gellar on making it to 100 Episodes. I thought that this was about due;

Be Cool--Slay in School: Flashback to day one, when the bangs were bigger
and the skirts were shorter. When Buffy's adventures began on March 10, 1997,
the Sunnydale High kids looked like they belonged on the set of 90210.
Neck 'n' Neck: Buffy turns her back on the vampire master--but not for long.
Her first-season nemesis quickly learned it's not wise to cross the slayer.
Touched by an Angel: In the early days of season one, Buffy and Angel were
little more than flirtatious sparring partners. Who knew this high school crush
would one day nearly end the world?
There's No Face Like Oz: In January of the second season, Seth Green came on
the scene and made Willow's heart race. Little did she know he had a
howlingly horrible secret.
Gotta Have Faith: In the beginning of season three, a new slayer was born in
Faith (Eliza Dushku). But when Faith started joining hands with the
mayor, it became clear this curvaceous slayer wasn't on the straight and
narrow.
Flesh and Blood: No longer able to control their passion for each other,
Buffy and Angel became the most unlikely of pairs in the third season.
Graduation Slay: As the Buffy gang bid adieu to high school in May of 1999,
their classmates were blown away--literally--by the mayor, who
transformed into a demonic snake just in time for the ceremony.
Sunnydale High went up in flames.
All Riley-ed Up: With Angel out of Sunnydale and high school behind her,
Buffy began her college years in season four. She took some
Initiative when she researched new love prospects with Riley (Marc Blucas).
Sitting Pretty: Outsiders were slowly welcomed to the Scooby Gang,
as Emma Caulfield (Anya, center) joined the cast in 1998 to get X-rated with Xander,
and Amber Benson (Tara, left) showed up in 1999 to make magic
with Willow (Alyson Hannigan, right).
Drac Goes for a Drink: He wanted to suck her blood, but in the fifth-season
opener, Vladimir quickly discovered what all vamps do:
They're no match for Buffy.
Sister, Sister? In the fifth season, Michelle Trachtenberg mysteriously
appeared as Buffy's little sis. The slayer soon learned she must keep Dawn
under lock and Key.
Girl Fight: Hee-yah! Riley tries to get a leg up on Buffy's first love,
as Angel returns to Sunnydale in a two-part crossover.
Chest, Mate: Have Spike's fantasies finally come true? Hardly.
This cold-blooded vamp now runs hot for Buffy.
But will she ever really invite him in?
Glory Be: As Glory, Clare Kramer is definitely one bitchin' goddess--
and Buffy's latest nemesis. When she's not hunting for the Key or going
a couple extra rounds with the Buffster, this hot brain-sucker is
ordering her minions--and more cool outfits.
The Mourning After: On April 17, 2001, Angel returns to his Sunnydale
roots to comfort Buffy in her time of need. Will she be able to carry on
after her mother's death?
Sweet Success: To celebrate the show's 100th episode and the wrap of the
fifth season, the current Scoobies enjoyed a big ol' slab of chocolate heaven--
or should we say Hell Mouth? There to nibble were, from left, Amber Benson(Tara),
Emma Caulfield (Anya), Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn), James Marsters (Spike),
Nicholas Brendon (Xander), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Alyson Hannigan (Willow)
and, of course, Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
You'll never guess who did the honors of slaying the cake...
