In the fall of 1993, the FOX television network premiered a show called The X-Files. The show centered around a driven FBI Special Agent named Fox "Spooky" Mulder. A man haunted by the abduction of his sister Samantha by extraterrestrials while they were still both children. He volunteered to be in charge of the X-Files because he believed that the truth to his sister's abduction can be found in the X-Files secrets.
His partner is a beautiful and skeptical medical doctor who goes by the name of Dana Scully. Every Friday night, we saw Fox and Dana track down extraterrestrials, a liver eating man who can stretch and contort his body, super secret jet fighters with the technology that the military may or may not had gotten from crash-landed UFOs, a half-human half-fluke man, vampires and a pyrokinetic. All the while, their investigations and steps are being trailed by a secretive rogue organization bent on not letting the world know the truth.
Then in 1996, FOX decided to move the show from Friday nights to Sunday nights. Many thought it would be the show's deathknell. But instead of dying, the show flourished, gaining more of an audience Sunday nights than it ever did when it was being shown on Friday nights.
What started out as a "cult" show bloomed into a world-wide following. The X-Files in now being shown in Great Britian, Austrialia, almost all of Europe and Asia. The show has been translated into Korean, Japanese, German, Spanish, Greek, even into the Arabic languages. In the process, the show has made fans from everyday people to well-known people such as former Vice President Al Gore and his family to the late Princess Diana.

X-FILES NEWS AND UPDATES.

1. UPDATE! Here is updated information on the tv series that Robert Patrick will be starring in. The series is entitled The Unit. Here is a brief synopsis I'd copied from the show's website. From Executive Producers David Mamet (Glengarry Glen Ross)and Shawn Ryan (The Shield), THE UNIT is an action drama that follows a covert team of Special Forces operatives as they risk their lives on undercover missions around the globe, while their families maintain the home front, protecting their husband's secrets. Jonas Blane (Dennis Haysbert) leads the Unit on missions out in the field and is responsible for taking new recruit Bob Brown (Scott Foley) under his wing. The Unit includes Jonas, Colonel Tom Ryan (Robert), Mack Gerhardt (Max Martini), Charles Grey (Michael Irby), Hector Williams (Demore Barnes) and Bob Brown. All highly skilled, trustworthy, brave and dependable soldiers whose ability to rely on each other is what creates their brotherhood. Jonas' wife, Molly (Regina Talyor), is the base matriarch who comforts and counsels the other wives as they cope with the fear and uncertainty they experience when their husbands leave home. Molly and Tiffy Gerhardt (Abby Brammell), a wife hiding her own dark secrets, help Bob's pregnant wife, Kim (Audrey Marie Anderson), acclimate to the stress of her new secret life. The show will premier on March 7th on CBS at 9PM ET/PT, 8PM CT/MT, right after NCIS. A preview of the show is available for downloading on the website. You will need Real Player in order to view the clip.

"THEY'RE SHUTTING US DOWN, SCULLY!" Fox Mulder - The Erlenmeyer Flask

As with VIACOM and unofficial Star Trek web sites, FOX is trying to do the same with X-Files fans who have web sites devoted to their favorite tv show. Please help me put a stop to this. The Internet is for everyone, not just for big corporations who have the money to spend for high-priced attack-dog lawyers in trying to shut down fan-runned web sites who do not have the big money. You can help me stop FOX from shutting down my site and other fan-runned X-Files web sites by e-mailing or writing letters to FOX. It is not too late if you do it NOW or the next site they'll try to shut down will be YOURS!
