Shadowman Yearbook 1

Character Info:
Shadowman
Real Name: Jacques Dominique Boniface (Jack Boniface)
Powers: enhanced strength, endurance, fighting ability, and healing at night
note: he actually has other powers, but they're blocked due to poisoning by a spider alien.

The Series:

After the series:
How Jack survives his plunge in the last issue is unknown, but he must have for continuity's sake. He gives his life to rid the world of the Darque Power in the year 1999. I have several theories of my own as to what happened.

1) He hits the ground and survives, but is put into a coma. When Master Darque threatens the world in 1999, he is reawakened (similar to what happened to Max during the Chaos Effect). He then goes and saves the world.

2) The Shadowman power somehow kicks in and saves his life even though it's day time. This is a sign that his blocked powers are almost completely freed. Jack finally accepts his destiny.

3) This one's my favorite. The Geomancer learned from the Earth about what Jack was about to do. Remember that the previous Geomancer, Geoff, knew about the coming problem involving the Darque Power. Since it has been known since Unity that Jack is vital in destroying the threat and saving the Earth, Clay the Geomancer learns that Jack must not die in his intended suicide. Clay then sends someone such as Solar or Gilad to save Jack and ensure the preservation of the planet. It makes sense.

The Same As It Never Was:
Shadowman vol.2 is about a guy named Mike Leroi, aka Zero, who becomes the new Shadowman after the old Shadowman is killed. Zero had become an assassin after awakening from a coma caused by an accident that killed his family. He was perfect for the new Shadowman. This series could almost be a continuation of the first except for some glaring differences. In this universe, the Shadowman is a title that has been carried by many different people over the years. Jack Boniface was actually a failed Shadowman in this universe who was killed by zombies. Also, Nettie is apparently evil in this series. The Shadowman powers also appear to be different here. It's still the story of a nighttime soldier who fights voodoo related bad guys, though.
