N306

November 15th, 1991:

BRILLIANT: THE FIRST EVER GEORDI EPISODE.

The season's second classic. A Geordi episode. And a Picard episode, too.

Best Actor: LeVar Burton (at last! A role of substance.) He really gives his all as Geordi, a man unsure of himself with women, and overly reliant on computers. Steward is excellent as always. Witness his reaction when told that he must give up control to a computer.

Susan Gibney is wonderful as Leah Brahms. She really is a hologram a guy could fall for.

The plot is neat and clever. It works and has a point to make.

The finale is tense, thrilling and exciting. Picard is totally in character. I suppose the Best Scene is when he takes the helm and saves the day. The early scenes, sending the Enterprise crew to the old ship are also very memorable.

GRADE: A+
