June 26th, 1994:
GOOD.
First half is dull, but it picks up.
Characters:
|
Deanna; |
Lwaxana; |
|
Picard; |
|
Beverly. |
Once again, Deanna is written as an impressive character. She is heroic and she is the one who works to solve the mystery. The revelation is superb. I was genuinely surprised. But what exactly did happen to the girl? Did she drowned or what? The editing of the crucial scene seems strange, and it definitely lacks clarity. Therefore, I am non-the-wiser.
Weak Point: After last weeks episode, why are we - once again - subjected to even more dreams/nightmares aboard the ship. And you gotta wonder, also, if everybody in the 24th Century sets their dreams on the USS Enterprise? Do all nightmares involve running down those Enterprise walkways?
NB: Data mentions his own dreams.
This is a good episode, but it is not a good Lwaxana episode. She has had much better stories than this. She appears very little in this one. Mind you, her every trip to the Enterprise has been eventful.
