Sculptor: Susuma Sugita Company: Jaguar Scale: 1/8 Material: resin Date Completed: 10/6/98 Comments: This is a smaller piece with tons of details. I had a lot of fun painting this one. I tried something new on his flesh. He has very prominent veins running over his muscles. After I had essentially finished the flesh paint job, I took a diluted blue wash and stained the veins. I followed this with a dry brush of the light flesh over the veins to blend them into the muscles better. Here is another quick painting tip. To get the streaked blood effect on the axe, I put a little burgundy on an art sponge and swipe the axe over it as it I was hacking at it. This creates a more realistic motion effect, as it is the result of the kind of action that would have caused the blood to be there in the first place.
