Sculptor: unknown Company: unknown Scale: 1/8 Material: resin Date Completed: 1994 Comments: This is one of the two main characters from Masumune Shirow's post-apocalyptic Japanese comic book (known as a manga in Japan) , called Appleseed. It has since been made into a TV series and one or two movies. Deunan's cyborg partner, Briareos, is still in a box and is one of my future projects. This was a "garage kit" or unlicensed kit, and literally came in a baggie with no instructions or paperwork at all. The casting was an absolute disaster and it took a tremendous amount of work in order to prepare the model to paint. The huge eyes are typical of many of the Japanese comic characters and does not represent a loss of scale on my part. Speaking of scale, this model stands only about four inches in height, making it one of my smaller pieces.
