Comments: This is an awesome work of art by Mark Newman! An expensive cold cast porcelain piece with wonderful details, which I highly recommend. I went for a little different color scheme from what I had been seeing in the trades and on the web. The grays and blacks used by others was not how I had always pictured werewolves in my mind. Fleshes and browns, yes, that's the ticket. I started with a complete coat of my blend of flesh tone then I hand painted the crest and mane with a dark brown. I then blended that brown with burnt sienna to redden it up some and brushed the shoulders and the other tuffs of hair. Out came the airbrush and I worked the contours of the muscles a bit. A red/golden brown wash over the entire creature followed. I then dry brushed the dark brown in areas to bring back some of the contrast I had lost. I have found that by using combinations of techniques and multiple layers, you can achieve a real organic look. This picture doesn't really do it justice as the real piece looks as if he could jump any second.
