The Rhino

Sculptor: The Shifflet Bros. Company: Toy Biz Scale: 1/12 Material: plastic Date Completed: 10/25/98 Comments: Here is one for all of you on tight budgets. This is one of Toy Biz's plastic Marvel Comics line, all of which I have picked up for under $10 each. Don't expect the details you see on the box art though, as apparently it is a picture of the original sculpture and not the kit inside. This is a "snap together model" for beginners, which means the seams were huge and gapping. I filled these with milliput and smoothed it out while it was still soft using a little Vick's VaporRub on my finger. This works much better than trying to sand it later. For those of you familiar with the kit, you probably have noticed that the pose is much different from the original kit which had Rhino coming up the stairs and facing the opposite direction. This had J. Jonah Jameson facing the back of the model, thus losing his face to viewing entirely. I personally like the effect my kit bashing has resulted in.
