Sculptor: unknown Company: Horizon Scale: 1/6 Material: vinyl Date Completed: 1995 Comments: This is the model where I learned to dry brush to make great looking metals. All you do is paint or prime the entire model in black and then take a metallic color and dry brush it on. For you novices, dry brushing is the technique of getting the brush almost dry of the paint and then just hitting the high points. The trick is not too much paint and gradually build up to the color and effect you want. Its really great for bringing out textures and reliefs. I dry brushed some regions with silver and the others with gun metal mixed with a tad of black. The cape on this model is one of the best I have worked with. The model is much better than the comic book, by the way. |
