Comments: This is what I call a messy piece. The more you mess it up the better and more realistic it looks. I mean, who ever heard of a clean living dead knight? The robe was at least 90% of the surface area of the model, so it was very important to achieve an appropiate look for it. The robe had to look like this guy had been wearing it for the last two or three hundred years. Varying from the light gray and white versions that you find elsewhere including the box art, I started with a coat of deep forest green and then did a very heavy dry brush of a lighter green mixed with gray. I then hit the high points with a gray dry brush. Mixing a little dirt brown with the light green/gray mix, I made a thin wash, which I slopped all over the place. Grabbing the original dark green, I striped the darker areas and then repeated the light green/gray dry brush. If you use a blow dryer between these coats you can accomplish them quickly and achieve a multihued effect quickly.
