Lt. Worf

Sculptor: John Dennett
Company: Geometric
Scale: 1/6
Material: vinyl
Date Completed: 1995
Comments: This model is a good example of leaving well enough alone. Worf was a simple kit to assemble and paint with the exception of getting his skin tone just right. I literally tried for several hours to get it just right, but finally did. To be truthful, it was perfect. The next day, after reading an article about sealing your models to protect the paint job, I hit old Worf with a coat of clear acrylic. Opps, big mistake. The sealant totally erased all the subtle skin tones and darkened the model considerably. It is a real shame as the facial work by Dennett is one of the best I've seen in capturing a real-to-life character. Maybe one of the these days when I have the time, I'll go back and try to find that magic color again.
