Zeiram II

Sculptor: Takayuki Takeya Company: self cast by sculptor Scale: 1/6 Material: resin Date Completed: 7/16/97 Comments: Another very special model! This resin cast was apparently one of a handful that the sculptor did himself prior to the piece being licensed for the excellant mass production resin kit that is available on the market from the company Fewture. I've seen both and the detail on this is better. Minimal construction was necessary on the model itself, but I had to construct the staff from the cast end pieces and a plastic dowel obtained from a model shop. I now keep a assortment of these around for various uses. The paint up is another of my minimalist jobs. Basic black primer with dry brushed highlights. This allows you to spend most of your time on the details, which in most cases, make or break the model. In this case, I think the chest and head detail work are what this model is about. I haven't gotten around to doing Zeiram I from the first movie or the heroine, Iria, from the movies and the tv series (yes, this guy is big in Japan). One of these days I guess.
