History- Alex Summers was orphaned as a child when the plane piloted by his father and carrying himself and his immediate family exploded in the skies over Alaska. While it is strongly suspected that the accident was caused by something other than mechanical failure, the incident left Alex the sole survivor of the summers family.
Alex was placed in the custody of the state when his one living relative, his grandmother, was deemed unfit to raise him. After spending several years in an orphanage in Omaha, Nebraska, Summers was placed in the care of Professor Charles Xavier, eventually becoming one of the founding members of Xavier's mutant team, the X-Men.
Some years later, when Professor Xavier became too ill to lead his team, he placed the X-Men in the care of his rival, Magneto. This decision, to entrust the well-being of the team to the man who once lead the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, caused great dissension in their ranks. Several members left the group, forming a separate team whose mission was to uphold the ideals taught by Xavier. This team, for a time, was known as X-Factor, and its leader was Havok.
In between the time that X-Factor formed- operating as a government agency- and disbanded, evolving into the team currently known as The Six, Alex Summers fell in love with Madelyne Pryor, and their marriage produced one child, Scott.
It is Havok, with the aid of his wife and his teammates, who is largely credited with forging a peaceful relationship between humans and mutants.
POWERS- Havok is a mutant whose body absorbs ambient cosmic energy and releases it in waves of energy which heat the air in their path enough to turn it into plasma.
