Men constitute the majority of the population of the eastern region of Kierqualon, although their numbers in Silvaneth, Irongard and Sithak are smaller than elsewhere, these lands being the elven, dwarven and lizardman realms.
Elves.
Whilst concentrated mainly in Silvaneth, many elves live throughout the other lands. The elves are a more reclusive race dedicated to peace and are famous for their love of all things of beauty and magic, but are equally famous as deadly with bow, sword and spell. The elves are related by blood to the drow, or dark elves, of which neither side is willing to speak or discuss. The drow split from the elves long ago and went to establish their own realm beneath the surface of the world.
Lizardmen.
The lizardmen are found almost exclusively in their own land of Sithak except for those that travel as traders, functionaries and bodyguards. They do not often mix with humans and demihumans due to mistrust on both sides. They are large and powerful creatures - stronger that any of the humanoid races and they possess a cold intelligence. Few have travelled to their island realm and those that have speak of the astonishing and strange culture of the Sithakai.
Dwarves.
Living predominantly in Irongard, nonetheless dwarves are found in the other lands often working as warriors, smiths and craftsmen. Though a little dour by nature, the dwarves are strong fighters and trusty allies. Dwarves produce many of the finest weapons, armour and jewellery.
Orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, ogres, trolls and giants.
These races live predominantly in the hills and mountains and the region known as the Dead Lands. Occasionally they raid villages though have also attacked in large numbers. Not much is known about their numbers and strength within the Dead Lands.
Drow.
The drow, or dark elves, are a subterranean dwelling race of elves. Long ago in elvish history there was a disagreement and the elves split into two factions. Shunning their brethren, the dark elves went to live in the places beneath the surface of the land. The drow found a new home under the Stregar Peaks in Vordar where they discovered endless tunnels and caves and caverns of immense size, and it was here they settled and built their realm, ruled over from the city of Utuk-Vrah. Communication between the two groups of elves stopped and each went their own way in carving out the future of their race. Relations with the people of Vordar were established as this country was founded and grew in the land above the drow world and the dark elves still trade with them today. Due to this relationship it is not unknown for the occasional drow to be above ground on missions or errands and half-drow are also known to exist after unions between humans and dark elves.
Dragons.
All varieties of these powerful creatures live throughout the lands and it is not unusual to occasionally see one in flight. They tend to steer clear of populated areas although some of the less intelligent breeds have been utilised as flying mounts.
Others.
Many other creatures and monsters exist in the world - from griffins and werewolves to skeletons, wraiths and other undead.
