A Spell to Cure A Cold

You'll need:
1 blue candle
1 oz. powdered ginger
5 drops eucalyptus oil

Run a hot bath. Add the ginger and the eucalyptus oil. Light the blue candle and turn out the lights. Enter the bathtub, and soak in the bathwater. Feel the waters cleansing you of the toxins in your body, and say: Isis, Goddess who heals all Release this (cold, flu, etc.) from me Make me well again.
Chant this as you feel the toxins leaving your body. When you feel slightly shakey (this will happen!), drain the tub and visualize the toxins washing down the drain. Rinse your body and your tub with cool water, visualizing all of the toxins washing off of your body, and your body becoming free of what you were sick with. Bring the candle to your room and immediately go to bed, keeping the candle light for a few minutes as you visualize yourself waking up feeling much better.
*Note: If you need to, put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a cotton pad and put it by your pillow. This helps a lot!

For a cold tea

1 t. wintergreen
1 t. lemon verbena
OR
1 t. yarrow
1 t. valerian
1 t. birch leaf
OR
juice of one or two lemons
2 TBSP wild cherry bark
2 TBSP horehound
3 or 4 rose hips

Combime in a muslin or cheeseclothbag. Coffee filters work too but you gotta tie them shut. Let the mix simmer for about 5-7 minutes, then add honey to taste.

Stinging Nettle Tea

Use 2 or 3 Tablespoons of the dried leaves in 1 cup of water for 10 minutes.

Cough Remedies

A tea of mullein - great lung herb, should always be in a mixture for the lungs, helps stop coughing when the lungs are infected or inflamed, but lets you cough if you need to. Osha - by far the best herb for the throat, with upper respiratory properties also. Unfortunately, the ingredients are not very water soluble, so you'll have to add tincture. An expectorant with a light hand - not too much Coltsfoot or Horehound, it may make you cough too much. Perhaps something soothing and tasty like licorice, or even Hibiscus, or if by chance you have fresh lemon grass growing in your yard , use that too. Perhaps even some calming herb like skullcap or a yummy Pedicularis. After all, these herbs are for spasms ... and coughing is bronchial spasms.

After straining, add an equal amount (or more) by volume of honey. This won't satisfy the US Dept. of Agriculture's definition of syrup, but it does just fine, and is plenty sweet. Store in the refrigerator.

And go ahead and add that Yarrow if you want, but don't boil., just steep.

Parsley Cough Remedy

Relieves particularly persistent and stubborn coughs. Pour 2 1/2 cups of boiling water over 2 tablespoons of dried agrimony flowers or leaves and 1 tablespoon of dried parsley. Leave to infuse and cool. Strain into a stoppered jar or bottle. Take 2 or 3 spoonfuls at a time, morning and evening, and when the cough attacks. The remedy is especially effective if also used as a gargle twice a day.

Elderberry Rob

take fresh elderberries, ( about a quart of these) and place in a pan with 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil , reduce heat and simmer coverd for 20 minutes. Place in a jelly bag, let cool and squeeze out the juice. Mix with equal volume of honey, and store in refrigerator for 6 months. Take a spoonful at a time every hour to soothe a raw throat, or prevent one from forming ( before singing, etc

General Healing

An easy to do All Heal Spell

... to aid in the healing of all conditions, or to soothe the symptoms of serious illness.

Items needed:
2 Bowls warm water
Bless or empower the water as you see fit... I just pray to the God and Goddess and ask them to aid me in my healing, then I send as much personal energy as I can into the water. Lie upon the bare earth (if not possible, floor is OK). Have each hand in a separate bowl of warm water, arms stretched out to the sides.
Visualise roots sprouting from the base of your spine, going down into the earth. Breath deeply, and with each deep, slow inhalation, feel the roots burrow deeper into the earth. see a bright light at the center...see your roots penetrate it... now with each slow, deep breath, draw up the energy from this light into you.
See two streams of light begin to come from the sky, one stream into each bowl...feel the love of the God fill the bowl to your left, feel the love of the Goddess fill the bowl to the right.
Draw this love from the bows into your body through your hands. Collect the love energy from the bows and the energy from the earth into your heart, where your most personal energy is kept. Build all the energy here...until you can contain it no more.
When you can no longer contain the energy in your heart, release the energy to flood your entire body, and shout as loud as you can "HEAL ME!!!" at the same time as the release.
Continue to draw the energy for a while, letting it flow through your body, and spilling onto the ground...relax, and enjoy the peace that will settle over you.
After you have relaxed for a while, draw up your roots into your body, remove your hands from the water, and sit up. Take a sip from the bowl to your left, and thank the God for his love, then spill it at the base of a tree. Then take a sip from the bowl at your right, and thank the goddess for her love, then spill it upon the same tree. In the future, care for this tree...it has been blessed by the love of the gods (the water) and it will aid you in your health.
