MUGWORT
Make an infusion tea of mugwort: Do not boil the herb. Instead, in a non-metal container, bring the water to a boil, turn off the heat and add the dried or fresh herb. Stir, cover with a lid, and steep for at least 30 minutes, stirring the infusion several times. Strain and then use or store in a glass container, with a lid, in the refrigerator. This is an excellent wash for cleansing magic mirrors, crystals, and crystal balls. Witches choose the full moon as the time to consecrate a magic mirror because moonlight has the effect of charging it with power. When not in use, wrap your mirror in a black velvet or silk cloth and keep it in a special box, away from the light.
PAST LIFE
1. Cast a circle in your regular fashion. In addition to your usual set-up, you will need a mirror (hand-mirror or something you can set on the altar) and a low candle that can be placed in front of it. (NB: =not= a scrying glass).
2. Settle yourself comfortably in front of the mirror. The candle should also be in front of the mirror so you are looking through the flame at the mirror. As you stare into the mirror, do a simple self-induction (clouds of color, staircase, whatever you like best) and keep your eyes fixed on the flame and the mirror. Do not look away. This is your first time, so be very passive and wait for what comes.
3. Soon you should see your reflection begin to morph into the face you wore in one of your past lives. It may speak, or you may just get intuitions about your previous life. When you think you've got everything, reverse the induction, blow out the candle, and end your circle.
Do not try for more than one past life per night. Once you start getting any response from the mirror, you can try setting specific goals, such as seeing a particular time or life. Don't be disappointed if it doesn't work the first time: this particular psychic talent is like a muscle, and takes work to make it strong. Be patient. The images will come.
Another Fire Divination
Once the fire has died to a glowing reddish-white mass of coals, stare into its heart. If you wish, throw some Fire of Azrael incense onto the coals (equal parts cedar, juniper & sandalwood). This will flare up & burn, but will quickly die down. With the scented smoke rising from the divination incense scry in the coals. See what shapes the charred wood seem to form, & determine their meaning through the language of symbolism.
Scrying
Another form that visions come in are color clouds. Although no one has been successful in identifying what each color cloud means, the following has been pretty accurate for a lot of seers.
Blue clouds symbolize success of career or business.
Gold clouds symbolize prosperity, steady cash flow, and renewed romance to come.
Gray/Dark gray symbolize ill fortune.
Black clouds symbolize some seriously bad stuff coming one's way.
Green clouds symbolize health, happiness of the heart.
Orange clouds symbolize hidden aggression and anger, troubled emotions.
Red clouds symbolize danger to come. This person must watch themselves.
Silver clouds symbolize troublesome times ahead followed by goodness.
White clouds symbolize very good fortune to come.
Yellow clouds symbolize upcoming obstacles.

BEST TIME: Waxing Moon
Fill the cauldron half-full of water and place it on a table where you can see comfortably into it while seated.
Light 2 purple candles and a good divination incense; a combination of mugwort and wormwood work well. Arrange the candles so their light does not shine into the water in your eyes. Focus your attention on the bottom of the cauldron, your hands placed lightly on either side. Breathe gently into the water and say:
Cauldron, reveal to me that which I seek
Great Mother, open my inner eye that I may truly see.
Empty your mind as much as possible; remian relaxed while looking deep into the cauldron waters. The answer may come in images in the water, picture in your mind and strong bursts of "knowing".
Prophecy
BEST TIME: Full Moon
Fill the cauldron half-full of fresh water. Stir the caudlron gently three times with your fingers. With a lighted candle, slowly drip spots of wax into the swirling water.
The Prophecy is read by interpreting the images seenin the wax, much like reading tea leaves. Boats, clouds and horses usually signigy journeys or movement. The Sun, Moon and stars indicate spiritual growth and/or life's successes. Develop your own interpretations for the images
