Prologue

The cold tundra of the North Pole was empty and barren. Silent freezing winds rushed acrossed the white landscape. If a person, a very stupid person, were to be standing out in the middle of these wastes, he or she would have been surprised to see a small dark ship land not too far from them. They would have been equally surprised to see a man exit the ship, and fight the harsh winds to reach a jagged piece of rock. The man reached and ran his fingers lightly againist the rock, looking for something intently.

Now, had the foolhardy person had stuck around to watch the man, they would of been shocked to see a small door open in the rock. The person would of also seen, before he or she froze to death, a small sinister smile on the man's face, and would have been more chilled by it, than from all the snow and ice surrounding them.....

Back in the warm city of Tokyo, a young woman sat in front of her easel, fast asleep. But her dreams were not pleasant ones of fame and fortune coming to court her for her brilliant art. No, these dreams were ones of dark places and dark people, coming to haunt her sleep yet again.

"What have they to offer you?" a male voice whispered in the gloom of her dream.

"My love is always yours..." another man joined him.

"We only wish the best for you..." a female voice joined in with the first two.

"Nooooo...", the girl moaned, "Not again.....I can't bear it!" The voices of her past surrounded her, beckoning her.

"For my sake, Cissa...." one last male voice said.

"All right....", the girl said, as she always did. "I will aid you...." Suddenly the figures were gone, and she was faced, as she always was, with the bloody fragments of a once magnificant throne room. A tall stately woman stood there, her crown glowing despite the destruction around her.

The woman looked down at the girl with saddened eyes, and a heavy heart. "You did this..you allowed this to happen...Why?" the woman pleaded with the girl.

"Forgive me!" the girl cried. Her hands on her head, she moaned, "Oh by the goddess, I am at fault for this....forgive me my Queen..."

As the girl's nightmare continued, she clutched a small pendant at her throat. "Forgive me...." she murmered in her slumber, "Forgive me, my Princess...."
