Wolf Awareness Week runs
from:
Oct. 18th through Oct. 24th,
but of course everyday is
a good time
to think about the protection
of
Mother Nature's Creatures!
So those sisters & brothers
here,
who are working on behalf
of the Wolves,
who would like the chance
to share some information
on the subject & are
welcome to share with us all.
Now, I know sometimes it is
hard for us to get serious, but I'm afraid some of this wolf information
is very serious indeed. So
forgive me if this sounds
like a little speech on wolves,
because it does
need to be said.
And the word needs to get
out everywhere.
Our planets wildlife really
are in danger.
The wolves are one of the
species of animals
that are in danger of extinction.
Besides, the slaughtering
that is going on is very
cruel.
We simply can not stand by
in silence.
Our Take on -so called "wolf
fairy tales":
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Wolf is often sadly misunderstood
and blamed for alot of naughty
things
that they really don't do.
So called "fairy-tales" against
wolves
were really about naughty
people.
& It is an insult to
The Fae to implicate them
(even in passing)
for such stories against
wild life,
made up by people.
So they are not really "fairy-tales"
they are "mean false-fairy
tales"
or more rightly called "naughty
people-tales".
In the story of "Little Red
Riding Hood"
it is "The Big Bad Wolf"
instead of a mean person,
who is portrayed
as "the symbol of a masculine
deciever"
out to hurt the most vulnerable
among the females:
the innocent little girls
& their grandmothers.
The one who is portrayed
as their masculine hero
is represented by a human
male however.
Sadly these stories teach
children from an early age
that the wolf is like an
evil guy
& that strange men are
their savoirs. hmmmm.
But of course, we know that
wolves don't want
our baskets of bread &
wolves don't really eat humans.
Of course wild animals must
be treated with respect
& a certain amount of
reasonable caution to safety.
But must evil human behavoirs
be projected on to them,
untill they are driven from
the face of the earth,
in order to teach children
respect ? No, of course not.
It probably only makes it
more confusing for them
to know who to trust. hmmm.
Perhaps the story of, "The
Boy Who Cried Wolf""
is more suitable for demonstrating
the real problems
between wolves & humans
?
Now, that's something to
think about....
In honor of The Bright Fae,
We challenge
each and every one of you
to make up some new "fairy-tales"/people-tales
that are positive towards
wolves & other noble creatures of Nature.
Now, wouldn't that be a fun
project for Autumn ?
Poems, songs & ballads
would be fun & rewarding
too!
Our Take on: Wolves as a Symbol
of certain Human Qualities:
(Projections of badness onto
"The Other" ? )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For, some have been taught
that the wolf represents
the worst qualities &
behavoirs of humans,
such as: "The wolf in sheep-skin".
But isn't it some humans
who are capable of pretending
to be harmless, while setting
you up for some abuse?
Ouch. Wev'e all been there
at some point in our lives.
Yet in contrast, did you know
that for some people
the wolf symbolizes the opposite
qualities,
like: dedication & loyalty
to loved ones?
Did you know that Wolves
are very loyal creatures?
They are very loyal to the
pack.
The Alpha Male is monogamous
& very Loyal to The Alpha
Female.
The other wolves in the pack
serve her well too.
This is important for the
survival of her offspring,
which are the survival of
the pack's future
& the future of the species.
If Alpha male wolves were
as betraying as
some humans, the species
would have
long ago become extinct from
the persecution of humans.
Actually humans are the only
species of animals
on earth, whose males ever
systematically
oppress & commit violence
against
the females of their own
species
based on gender persecution.
Sad but true...Go figure.
Historically,
Hatred, fear of nature and
misogyny
have always seemed to go
hand in hand.
Yet we need one another for
procreation
& for the survival of
our own species too.
We do not exist in a vacumn.
We are not really just "man"
as a species,
we are "humans", "humankind",
"people"
& we must try to be more
humane.
Any detriment to nature
is a detriment to all creatures.
We have gone terribly off
track,
as a species when we began
to be taught to think
of nature as our enemy to
be "conquered by man".
And by so doing we have lessened
the humanity of us all, in
a myriad of ways.
(Each & every one of
us, both great & small.)
Whether we choose to admit
it or not,
we are all a part of the
whole of Life
& what we do to another,
we inevitably to to ourselves.
Yet, to the compliment of
humanity
there are still many humans,
both males & females
whose souls have resisted
this
anti-nature philosophy &
who have no desire to to
oppress one another
or the the animals &
nature.
It is these beings who are
to the glory
of humanity & our planet.
Yeah! :O)
