Say hello to the newest addition to my slug family, Joie'la the Mystical Slug. She's more Asara's slug than mine, because they've got that whole dragon-bonding thing going on, but that's understandable. Joie'la lives in Asara's cave with her, but she spends a lot of time doing things with Meenkee. To read all about their joint escapades, look here. Joie'la joined us on July 17, 1998. We adopted her because Meenkee was getting lonely. I was out of school for the summer, and his little friend Marmalade had gone home with Susie, so he didn't have anyone to play with. Plus, when Asara found out that there were Mystical slugs, she just had to have one. She loves Meenkee to death, but there just isn't that same connection, you know? I might as well turn this over to her, so she can describe it for you.
Joie'la and I have a special bond, as Carrie has said, one that can only exist between those with the true Draconic spirit. We understand each other in a way that humans can never understand dragons, and vice versa. I've given her a section of my cave all for herself, and gotten some mushrooms and fungus to make her feel more at home. She also has a little hoard of her own, as I've shared several of my treasures with her, something a dragon does not often do. I wish I could put our friendship in terms a mortal could understand, but even the dragon language does not have words adequate to explain it. It just is.
