Slicing through the competition this November, the former Maximum Press
title Lady Pendragon returns to the stands courtesy of Image Comics.
Created and written by Matt Hawkins, illustrated by John (Avengelyne,
Scarlet Crush) Stinsman and computer colored by Spectrum Color, Lady
Pendragon: Destiny’s Embrace is a three issue story arc with plans for
an ongoing series. "The release of Lady Pendragon this November will mark the happiest
moment in my six year career in the comic industry," says Lady
Pendragon creator/writer Matt Hawkins. "This is the culmination of
three years worth of research and I’m honored to have this very personal
project published by my friends and colleagues at Image Comics." A science-fiction, fantasy epic laced with Arthurian Legend, historical
drama and apocalyptic futures, Lady Pendragon’s story begins with the
death of King Arthur and the fall of Camelot. The darkest hour has
fallen on Briton as Arthur’s Queen takes the mantle of the Pendragon and
attempts to salvage a nation thrust into civil war and threatened with
invasion from across the sea. The greatest threat to all of history
brings the Dark Ages to modern man in a tale of past, present and
future. "Matt and I have been friends for a long time and I was privy to Lady
Pendragon when it was just a gleam in his eye," says Image Comics
Executive Director Larry Marder. "I’m proud to help him bring it to the
market place." Combined with the release of a variety of licensed product including
T-shirts, skateboards, action figures, full figure statues and sculpted
busts, the Lady Pendragon creative team will be touring across the
United States from November to January. Lady Pendragon #1 is a $2.50
full color comic book shipping the first week of November. "I can’t explain how cool it is to hold a toy that’s based on my own
character," says Lady Pendragon creator/writer Matt Hawkins. "I’m very
fortunate to have had the incredible team that helped make the action
figure a reality. I couldn’t have done it without the assistance of
Joel Venti (sculptor), John Stinsman (artist) and my partner in ongoing
toy deals Greg Aronowitz." Sculted by Joel Venti (Re:Gex’s Genie) and painted by Greg Aronowitz
(Legends in 3 Dimensions founder), the Lady Pendragon action figure will
be made available in three versions based on variations of the
character’s costume within the comic itself. The "common" figure will
feature the Dark Ages to present costume of Lady Pendragon. This figure
will be shipped in a case of six (6) with one (1) exclusive variant
figure per case. The third version will only be available through the
exclusive retailer incentive program offered on the Lady Pendragon #2
comic book also solicited in December. The story in the comic is a science-fiction, fantasy epic laced with
Arthurian Legend, historical drama and apocalyptic futures. The series
opens with the death of King Arthur and the fall of Camelot. The
darkest hour has fallen on Briton as Arthur’s Queen takes the mantle of
the Pendragon and attempts to salvage a nation thrust into civil war and
threatened with invasion from across the sea. The greatest threat to
all of history brings the Dark Ages to modern man in a tale of past,
present and future. Combined with the release of a variety of licensed product including
T-shirts, skateboards, comic books, full figure statues and sculpted
busts, the Lady Pendragon action figure has a MSRP of $14.95 and is
solicited through Diamond Comics Distributor for December shipping
product. S (Matt Hawkins) The first story arc of a continuing series! King Arthur is dead and
Camelot has burned to the ground. The darkest hour has fallen on Briton

threatened with invading barbarian forces from across the sea, and torn
between two religious faiths, Lady Pendragon confronts the greatest
threat to all of history in a story that brings the Dark Ages to modern
man. What does the recent Pathfinder Mission to Mars and a young 20th
century woman have to do with anything? Find out as Arthurian legend
