The Fixer

Real Name: P. Norbert Ebersol
First Appearance: Strange Tales#141

A child prodigy whose engineering genius was evident from the age of three, he grew up disdainful of society for judging him by his looks and personality rather than his intellect and skill. After losing a number of jobs due to his arrogance, he turned to crime, and found what he'd been looking for his whole life--an arena in which his abilities mattered more than any other factor--and he's been an enthusiastic career criminal ever since. In addition to his membership in the Masters of Evil, he had a longtime partnership with the psionically-powered Mentallo and an extensive connection with the terrorist organization Hydra, including a stint as one of their section chiefs. As Techno, he modified the bulky weapons-harness he wore as The Fixer into his tech-pac, a mentally-controlled unit made of thousands of circuits and components, which he could reconfigure at will, creating a virtual arsenal of weaponry and other equipment as he needs it.

The fixer was one of the original Thunderbolts and went under the name of Techno then later he had his neck snapped by one of the Elements of Doom. He uploaded his consciousness into the Elements of Doom Citadel's systems, from there he used his techpac to aid him, and built a new robot body for himself. Later Techno helped Baron Zemo in various things as their ploy to rule the world wasn't successful. Techno returned to the Thunderbolts later hidden under the guise of Ogre. Techno has since died but now the real Fixer has seemingly returned.

In Thunderbolts #52 the Fixer recalls having his neck snapped. He later awoke in his bionutrient gel tank thanks to Baron Zemo's help. The tank had restored the Fixer's health and Gyrich met him when the tank was opened. Now Fixer has to be a hero or his tech-harness will shut down his own neural net.

When the Redeemers confronted Graviton rather than stay and fight Fixer tried to escape. Before he got far Moonstone confronted him and made him an offer to join them. Fixer joined Graviton and Moonstone and went along with their plans until Zemo as Citizen V contacted Fixer and made him an offer of freedom. Citizen V would give Fixer the government codes that bind his tech-pack for assistance in taking down Graviton.
