The game begins outside the castle and town of Coneria. The first quest in the game involves rescuing the princess Sara from the renegade knight Garland. Before setting out to rescue the princess, buy weapons, armor, magic, and items in the town of Coneria.

Make sure you equip weapons and armor before leaving town.

You should also get some HEAL potions and some TENTs. Between three to five of each should be enough. Your adventure party starts with only 400 gold, regardless of composition, so you will need to fight a few battles outside the town to get all the money you will need to equip your party. Get weapons and armor first. Visit the inn to save your game before leaving town.
