Description: The Tree of Ages is magically hidden from those outside of Greatwood Forest. Once entering the forest, it's sight is obstructed by the dense canopy. However, breaching the canopy results in the tree being clearly visible from any direction (weather permitting).
The Tree of Ages is at a major magical nexus. All spells cast within 100' of the tree are 3 times as effective and use only 1 SP, regardless of the spells level. Special magics running throughout the tree enable all who touch it to understand any language spoken by someone else also touching the tree. The tree itself is highly resistant (95%) to magic. It is also nearly invulnerable to all attacks (True Armor of 100 with 500,000 DP.) It regenerates damage to itself at 1d4x1000 DP per minute.
Throughout the trees branches are magical portals to virtually every other plane of existance. However, many powerful beings are often placed as guardians of such portals. Known portals include gates to: Doomgate, Beastlands, Tritus, Darklands, Plains of Light, Elemental Plane of Light, Elemental Plane of Darkness, Stormlands, Dragonwalk.
The Tree itself is considered a sentient being (WIS 250, PSY 275) and has been know to communicate with those it deems worthy on rare occasion. It can also cast most Nature spells at 20th lvl with a base SP of 1000. In rare instances, when the Tree deems someone worthy, it provides the hero with gifts such as staves, wands or leaves from its boughs. These gifts are highly treasured not only for there magical abilities but for the honor of receiving such a gift.
