I don't recall who first told me about Capercaillie, but when I went to Scotland in 2002, I made sure to pick up a CD by the band, only to be blown away by it when I listened to it back in the U.S. It was at that point I realized I needed to add this group to the store. After many e-mails transcontinentally, I found a distributor in New York, and am now carrying all their CDs, except for Glenfinnian, which is only available at Capercaillie's official website, Waulkroots, whose distributor I've not found yet, and Choice Language, which it looks like I won't be carrying.
Rather than listing all the cuts on all the albums, I'm just going to tell you that all the albums are worth it. If you want just a taste of their musicality, I'd suggest "From Dusk Til Dawn," which is a "best of" type album, or "An Introduction to Capercaillie," which is just that - an introduction. The "Live" album is that - LIVE. There's also a video of the live concert, but I decided not to carry it.
Here are the covers to the albums I do carry (except for Delirium - I'm working on it). Putting your cursor on top of each one will show you the album name.
I was also able to get the album that first introduced me to Capercaillie, "An Introduction to Capercaillie."
In addition, I am carrying the new solo CD of the lead singer, Karen Matheson, called "Downriver," along with her 1996 release, "The Dreaming Sea."
I've also added two CDs from Capercaillie artist, Michael McGoldrick: "Fused" and "Wired"
