Heather Alexander started out singing on some of the streets of San Francisco. About 10+ years ago, she made a decision - to become a full-time musician and chase her dream. She's taken a lot of us on the way with her, and the trip has been worth it. However, I've not heard of her performing down here in the south, but I keep hoping. Right now, I carry several of her albums - see below. Her first album of which I have knowledge, Phoenyx - Keepers of the Flame, is no longer available.
I've had the opportunity to listen to her live and in color. Her flaming orange-red hair (that's how I see it, I could be slightly inaccurate) shows her fiery Irish nature, along with her fiddle and guitar playing. She also has a bit of an "evil streak" in her, like the time she was at a science fiction convention and the filkers were not given a room, so they went to the lobby area and Heather started singing "March of Cambreadth," (there's a version of it on Midsummer, but the best version is on Phoenyx), and . . . . . . . . . . well, you'll have to ask her or me about it.
The only thing I'd like to see her do would be to put out a book of her music. People have enjoyed listening to her stuff for a long time now, and who wouldn't like to have the words?
Click here to see information about all the albums, including Midsummer, Life's Flame, Wanderlust, A Gypsy's Home - Song of the Roving Life, Insh'Allah - the Music of Lion's Blood, Festival Wind, Uffington Horse - Enchantment, Album of Secrets and Merlin's Descendants. The last three will have play lists and album covers up real soon now. In addition, at Dragon*Con 2006, it was announced that she'll have a new CD out by the end of September, at Fencon. More details when I get them.
