(This is the personal journal of Bryan Stone, leader of Cyberspace Task Force GammaRanger, for June 15, 1998:
Our picture became clear when Sei, the GridRanger, revealed her story, but right now, we are faced with an even greater crisis. Sei must energize herself perodically for fear of loss due to erasure, but that is still not permanent. And if that wasn't enough, We are now being fired upon an unknown vessel believed to be Cyberspatial in origin. And the story continues...)
(The scene: the Skies. The MD SkyStation is being blasted by an unidentified vessel trying to maintain contact with Koike. Sei appears on a computer image.)
Sei: Where did Koike go?
Bryan: I'm still trying to keep in touch with him, but it's impossible to do it when you're being fired at.
Scottie: Whatever it is, it's getting closer.
Bryan: Prepare for evasive maneuvers. Transform and get to the mechs.
Rangers: Right! (all of them exit, leaving Sei and Bryan)
Sei: What's happening?
Bryan: You're about to find out. Jupiter file, download!
(Bryan transforms into RedJupiter.)
RedJupiter: Guys, I need status reports now!
BlueNeptune: Not good, Bryan. We've got heavy fire on both sides!
AquaMercury: Preparing evasive maneuvers now!
(The Rangers strafe the Station to avoid getting hit. The crew of the Daemon Navigator are not pleased.)
DaemonAir: They're escaping!
DaemonRock: Not yet. Fire another round and don't stop until they've been blasted out of the sky!
(Daemon Navigator fires again.)
GreenMars: We're getting another round! We have to take more agressive actions!
RedJupiter: I agree. Upload MegaDriver sequence!
(The Rangers separate and rejoin as MegaDriver.)
Rangers: MegaDriver ready!
(Onboard the Navigator.)
DaemonWater: That was unexpected. What do we do now?
DaemonFire: We can't face that thing!
DaemonRock: Let's send this thing back to Cyberspace!
(The Navigator moves back and escapes through an oversized Digiwindow.)
AquaMercury: What was that thing?
RedJupiter: I don't know, but we will see it again.
YellowVenus: Yeah. In the meantime, we better get this thing back to Cyberspace for repairs.
RedJupiter: Right! Let's go!
(The Rangers relocate at the Town Centre, where Bryan and his laptop repair the MegaDriver while talking to Koike.)
Scottie: How's Sei?
Koike: The energy transfer is successful. Unfortunately, it only lasts for a limited amount of time.
Bryan: How long?
Koike: In Earth's atmosphere, 72 hours.
Bryan: What about the Station?
Koike: A little longer. Maybe 90 hours.
Scottie: Should we upload her now?
Koike: Not now. You should saver her until she is needed. Besides, you should concentrate on repairing the Station. I'm doing my best from this side. I expect you to do yours. Koike out.
Bryan: Well.. What do you think, Scottie?
Scottie: I think we better edit the MegaDriver file.
(Meanwhile on the other side of the food court...)
Amy: Eric... You seem distracted. Where's your mind today?
Eric: Over there... (points at Jill)
Laura: Jill? Jill McClain?
Amy: How do you know Jill?
Laura: Let's just say we have a past.
(Jill walks over and takes a seat.)
Eric: Hey Jill! (smiles) Remember me? Jill: Hey Eric. Yeah I do. (looks to the right and sees Laura) Laura?
Laura: Hey. Haven't seen you since that... uh...
Amy: Time you met?
Laura: Yeah! We were at that convention and I saw you with my ex-boyfriend.
Eric: So much for a past.
Jill: So what've you been up to lately?
Laura: Umm.. Not much. Just did whatever I did when I did it. (Scottie enters with his cel phone)
Scottie: All right... Is 3:00 good for you? Alright, I'll tell the others... You too... Bye.
Amy: What was that about?
Scottie: One more day at the park and we'll be able to graduate next week.
Eric: Great! When?
Scottie: In about half an hour. Should we get going?
Eric: Wait a sec. Jill, you want to come?
Jill: (Thinks about how she was attacked, but also thinks about her DaemonRanger powers) Sure, why not?
Eric: All right! Let's go, guys... Laura?
Laura: No, that's okay. I'll see if I can help Bryan out at the... uh...
Amy: (points at Bryan on the other side) Over there?
Laura: Yeah... (The four leave for the park, Scottie and Eric are behind Amy and Jill.)
Eric: That's pretty weird.
Scottie: What is?
Eric: Well, when the Balzac attacked us in the park, Jill wouldn't have been caught dead near it. But now...
Jill: Aren't you guys coming?
Scottie: We'll be right there! (whispers to Eric) We better keep an eye on her.
(They leave for the park in Scottie's car. Cut to the Satellite, where Namrock and Galevan are discussing the next phase in their plan.)
Namrock: Somehow I think that the plan needs a new turn.
Galevan: What did you have in mind?
Namrock: You must go to Userspace and confront the Rangers.
Chouzo: Yeah! Like an ambush!
Galevan and Namrock: Shut up, Chouzo!
Namrock: Summon our DaemonRangers!
Rhexus: We can't! At least not ALL of them.
Galevan: What do you mean?
Rhexus: DaemonWater is with the Gamma Users now!
Galevan: DAMN IT! If we attack now, then our cover will be blown!
Namrock: Call the others. They will serve as our ambush.
(Namrock opens a channel to the remaining three Daemon Loaders. Cut to the park.)
Eddie: What time is it?
Spoony: About 2:50. (Beeping noises) What was that?
Sara: I think it's coming from your backpack.
Eddie: (after opening his backpack and getting his Daemon Loader) Eddie here.
Galevan: (Through a DWC) Are you ready for phase two?
Spoony: What do we do?
Galevan: I will tell you later. Prepare for my arrival.
(A few minutes later on the other side of the park.) Amy: So are you guys ready?
Eric: (feigning wear) No... No more work! (Jill smiles)
Scottie: Well, this is it. Where's everyone?
Jill: I don't know. I don't even know those people.
Scottie: It's not like Eddie to be late. If anything, he's half-an-hour early... for everything!
Amy: Strange... (Cyber Loader beeps)
Jill: What was that? (looks at Scottie's Cyber Loader)
Scottie: This? It's my pager.
Jill: Funky looking pager.
Scottie: Well, I made it myself out of some old parts. I better take care of this. Jill, stay here in case someone comes, okay?
Jill: Okay.
(The others leave for a phone bank.)
Galevan: (From behind a bush) DaemonWater is alone. (forms a DWC) DaemonWater, it is time.
(At the phone bank.)
Scottie: So there's someone controlling the Navigator?
Bryan: Whoever it is, it's human.
Scottie: Could there be anything causing this?
Bryan: Viral infection? That would be my guess. (pause) I'm getting the same readings that I got when we fought that ship. It's on the ground near you. You better go check it out. Laura and I will be there soon.
Scottie: Got it. Scottie out. (looks as his friends and nods) Ranger file download!
(They transform and all five Rangers meet at the source of the strange reading.)
AquaMercury: (using GammaScan) Yep. This is where we saw it. But where could the energy be coming from?
Galevan: I can answer that question.
RedJupiter: Galevan! What are you doing here?
Galevan: Just came to put you in early retirement.
GreenMars: Not bloody likely.
Galevan: Now that you mention it... (shoots beams at Rangers; Rangers fall over)
BlueNeptune: I don't give up that easy!
(BlueNeptune jumps into the air, activates his GammaClaw, and launches it at Galevan.)
Galevan: Temper, temper! (shoots him down) I advise the rest of you to save your energy. You'll need it. (teleports out)
YellowVenus: What do you think he means by "saving our energy"?
Voice: There they are!
Rangers: Huh?
(Two of the DaemonRangers jump in from one side; the other two from the other side.)
GreenMars: What the hell?
DaemonFire: Anybody call me? (spouts fire at GreenMars)
GreenMars: Who are you guys anyway? GammaLink down...
DaemonAir: (her and DaemonRock grab him from behind) We can't have that now, can we?
RedJupiter: What's this all about?
DaemonRock: It's about us getting rid of you!
RedJupiter: You... you piloted that thing we were fighting.
DaemonRock: You catch on fast. Attack them, DaemonRanger!
RedJupiter: (looks at GammaRanger) Be careful, guys. We don't know what we're up against.
(The GammaRanger fight the DaemonRanger. Cut to the Satellite.)
Namrock: Fight, my creations!
Rhexus: Sire! We found the code!
Namrock: What code?
Rhexus: The code for the failsafe device I embedded within the Daemon Navigator.
Galevan: You better not be playing games with us.
Rhexus: Just shut up and watch.
Galevan: This ought to be good for a laugh...
(The Namrocks watch as the Navigator seems to take another form. Cut to the park, where both sets of Rangers are fighting.)
YellowVenus: This is getting hopeless! There're more of us but we're still getting hammered!
GreenMars: Maybe some well timed blaster fire could shut them up!
RedJupiter: Maybe you're right. (Rangers draw their Ranger Blasters) On my command... Fire!
DaemonRock: Wrong! (heaves a giant rock at them)
GreenMars: I'll take care of that!
(GreenMars leaps into the air and calls his MarsBreaker to break the rock.)
RedJupiter: Mars! Wait!
(It is too late. The rock smashes into hundred of smaller, but just as powerful, fragments. The Rangers get hit by them.)
AquaMercury: Maybe a shield arrow will deflect them!
(Laura draws the arrow and fires. A shield forms from the arrow and deflects some of the fire.)
RedJupiter: Good thinking, Mercury! Let's get back to the Station. I think that Koike has something by now.
(The Rangers retreat to the Station. Cut there.)
Koike: We've finally managed to energize Sei, but I'm afraid that she's still in danger of losing her.
Eric: We'll need all the help we can get.
Bryan: Is there a way to polarize the powers?
Koike: Not as of yet.
(Back at the battle scene.)
Eddie: The Rangers have escaped. What do we do now?
Galevan: Remain in Userspace now. The next battle will have me fighting alongside of you. Galevan out.
Spoony: It's getting dark. We'd best leave.
Sara: But what about...
Spoony: You heard what Galevan said... Let's go.
(The DaemonRangers just about head for their homes, when suddenly...)
Jill: (Thinking:) A blue backpack... But whose?
(Jill pulls out a piece of paper that says "Property of Richie Scott. If found, please return to 3429 Erixson Street or call 555-4117".)
What could be next for the Rangers? In the meantime, why don't you mail me...
