Hexalink: Scary, isn't it? And what's this? Three unsuspecting visitors.
Namrock: The Gamma Users, no doubt. Has the spell taken hold of them?
Hexalink: More than you can ever process, my lord.
(As Hexalink leaves, Galevan arrives, sword in hand.)
Galevan: When do we attack the Gamma Users again?
Namrock: Wait. Let's see if we made the necessary functions.
Galevan: Ah, yes, sire. I am ready.
(They begin to watch the screen for more action by their monster. Cut to the NetStation. Amy chooses this place to study because it is outside the realm of the real world, where, more times than not, she will be distracted by life itself. Enter Bryan.)
Bryan: What's wrong?
Amy: We used to be the best. I've never lost contact. Now she thinks I'm cold and unwanted.
Bryan: Well, times change. So do people and friends. But I'm guessing this was drastic.
Amy: Yeah. What did I do wrong? (Cyber Loader goes off) Open Com-Link.
Laura: (over Com-Link) I just picked up som major bioreadings outside the university. You better come check these out.
Bryan: (opens his Com-Link) We're on our way. (closes) C'mon, Amy, we're needed on the bridge.
(The two head to the bridge, where Laura and Jill are waiting for them.)
Bryan: What's going on?
Jill: This. (brings up screen) While we were looking for possible viral scans using the bioreaders, we found something interesting.
Amy: Viruses?
Jill: I don't think so. It's a mind read that, somehow, has been rapidly changing over the past twenty-four hours.
Amy: Where is it?
Laura: On the corner of 23rd and Pathway Streets.
Amy: Pathway Towers?
Bryan: I think so.
Amy: Bryan, let me go investigate. While Scottie, Eric, and I were there a while ago, we saw some weird stuff going on.
Bryan: You mean while your friend didn't recognize you and threatened to have to escorted off the premises?
Amy: Exactly.
Bryan: (after thinking for a moment) OK. But if you need any help, Com-Link me, all right?
Amy: Okay. (transloads out)
Jill: Could this be a virus?
Bryan: We'll see.
(Later that evening, at around 9:30, the three collegiate Rangers take a shuttle to Pathway Towers. This time, they sneak in by following some entering residents. They are all dressed in stakeout gear.)
Amy: All right, here's the plan. Scottie, you go to the cafeteria. Eric, you stay here and monitor the lobby, while I go back to Liz's room and try and talk some sense into her.
Scottie: Got it, baby.
Eric: Good luck, guys.
(Amy and Scottie head off in their directions while Eric stays put. About half an hour later, Scottie tries to interrogate the watchman of the first floor.)
Scottie: (in an obviously fake urban accent) Excuse me, can you tell me where the water fountain is?
Watchman #2: Over there (points towards the elevators).
Scottie: Thanks, bro. (walks toward the water fountain)
Watchman #2: (pulls out a radio) Number two to base. We've got one on the bottom floor at the water fountain.
(Meanwhile, with Eric...)
Watchman #1: Good evening, sir.
Eric: Hello.
(The radio goes off with a sinister voice on the other line.)
Radio: Base to number one. Be on the look out for an outsider on the first floor.
Watchman #1: 10-4. (walks off)
Eric: (over Com-Link to Amy and Scottie) We've been spotted! Hurry back to the lobby!
(The two hurry back to the lobby.)
Amy: I found out what's going on! Everyone here is in some sort of hypnotic trance! I saw them being placed into it!
Watchman #1: I can't get to them.
Radio: Go to Plan B.
(The watchman gives a signal to a nearby passer-by. She walks closely to Eric's foot, falls over, and begins to scream.)
Eric: Are you all right?
Amy: Liz?
Liz: Yeah, I'm all right, no thanks to this guy over here.
Eric: But I...
Liz: Don't give me that! I thought I told you that outsiders weren't welcome here!
Amy: But I'm your friend!
Liz: You were my friend. You know, none of this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you, so why don't you get out of here!
Amy: This isn't you talking.
(A voice from the distance begins to speak.)
Manager: I believe you heard the lady. Get out or we'll have to make you get out.
Eric: What now, Amy? (as the residents begin to charge them)
Amy: RUN!!!
(The three begin to run while being chased at by the residents.) Scottie: I will not use my powers to harm others. I will not use my powers to harm others...
(Scottie trips over and loses his Cyber Loader, which a resident picks up.)
Oh, it's on now!
(Scottie jumps and flips over the other residents to the guy who stole his Cyber Loader.)
(snatching it from his hand) Mine, I think. (turns to Amy and Eric) Did you already call the others?
Amy: Yeah. They should be here any time now.
Manager: Excuse me, but did that happen to be a Cyber Loader?
Eric: Wait. You wouldn't know that unless you...
Manager: Looked like this? (metamorphoses into Beta Hypno, a giant swirled eye with limbs.)
Amy: (jumping into the air to kick him in the back) Venus Ranger file, download! (instantly transforms into YellowVenus.)
Eric: That's our cue! Ranger files, download! (Eric and Scottie do what Amy just did)
BlueNeptune: Can't we hold them back without hurting them?
Bryan: (from the front door) Allow me! (pulls out Ranger Blaster) Net Ray, download and fire!
GreenMars: That was a close one. Now what?
Bryan: Really simple. They just need to cool down, that's all. (throws them all into the pool) Come on, guys. Follow me!
(The six Rangers go outside to the center of Pathway Towers as Beta Hypno is about to energe from the water.)
Bryan: There he is! Ranger files and DriverCycle, download!
(Bryan, Laura, and Jill transform. As soon as the metamorphosis is complete, the DriverCycle enters the Earth from the NetStation.)
YellowVenus: I've got an idea. Eric, Scottie, follow my lead!
Neptune, Venus, and Mars: ServerCycle, download!
(The two Server Cycles fly the three Rangers to a spot above the pool where the monster is attacking.)
BlueNeptune: Fire all cannons! Then go for the others! We've got to get them to safety above all else!
(The cannons fire off at Beta Hypno.)
Beta Hypno: Here's a shot of my own for you, Amy. (soothing voice) Concentrate. Concentrate, YellowVenus. The other two GammaRangers are against you. You know they are. After all, you're just a girl.
YellowVenus: (in an equally soothing tone) They are all against me. (proceeds to pushing Eric off the ServerCycle)
GreenMars: What the hell are you doing?
YellowVenus: You are all against me.
RedJupiter: Scottie, go and get the people in the pool. I'll try to free Amy from her trance somehow.
BlueNeptune: Got it. You ready to play catch, Jill?
GridRanger: Ready as always! DriverCycle, let's do it!
(The two motorcycles harpoon everyone out of the pool.)
AquaMercury: GreenMars is still in danger!
BlueNeptune: Laura, use your GammaShot to hit Beta Hypno in the eye.
AquaMercury: Done and done. GammaShot, download! (GammaShot forms on her Cyber Loader) One arrow shock, coming up!
(She shoots the arrow and it hits the eye of Beta Hypno. Suddenly, Amy feels dizzy.)
YellowVenus: My head. Eric? (looks below) ERIC!
(She takes the driver's seat and flies down to retrieve GreenMars. In mid air, she catches the fallen warrior as he is about to hit the ground.)
GreenMars: Hey there. How ya doing?
YellowVenus: We'll talk about this later, but for now, I'm sorry I tried to push you off of the ServerCycle.
GreenMars: Forgotten.
Galevan: (from the sky) Not quite yet! Beta Blast, now!
(The Betamon is first blasted, then Galevan.)
Beta Hypno: Now?
Megalevan: Do it.
(Beta Hypno begins another trance spell, but since his eye was knocked out, it is substantially weaker than the first one.)
Beta Hypno: You will stand back... Now concentrate... Concentrate. They are all against you.
RedJupiter: Don't listen! Block out your thoughts!
(They try to put an antiviral shield on each other while fighting the Beta Hypno's spell.)
Beta Hypno: I don't get it! They should be under my control.
Megalevan: This is serious. Now we do it my way. (shoots at the Rangers)
AquaMercury: Now this is hectic. Let's get to the Station before it's too late!
(The Rangers get to their respective places in the Station.)
RedJupiter: Upload NetDriver sequence!
GridRanger: Upload mode two GridTitan sequence!
(The two machines transform and begin fighting the two monsters, with insufficient luck.)
Megalevan: If this is a joke, then I'm not laughing.
RedJupiter: Get this! Engage GridDriver sequence!
(The two robots combine to form GridDriver. GridRanger joins the other five at the helm.)
GridRanger: Weapons are on lock. While we finish this guy, we can get Galevan too!
Megalevan: Not bloody likely. (Digiwindows out.)
RedJupiter: GridDriver finish, download!
(The massive machine begins to fire at the Beta Hypno. After several shots, it is deleted. The Rangers jump out and retroform, all except Amy.)
YellowVenus: Liz, tell me you're all right.
Liz: (still in a slight daze) Wh.. what happened?
YellowVenus: It's me, Amy. See? (takes off her helmet) Do you remember anything?
Liz: I think so. The last thing I remember was me going into my suite and turning the lamp on.
Scottie: Does she remember me?
Liz: Sure do, Sponge (smiles).
Amy: That tears it. She's all right.
Bryan: We better go, guys. I've put the NetStation on mindwipe mode. In about fifteen seconds, no one will remember what happened.
Amy: But what about Liz?
Bryan: It's probably best that she forget that you are a GammaRanger.
Amy: You just rest here, okay?
(The Rangers transload out just as the mindwiper begins to work on the residents of Pathway Towers. Cut to the Satellite.)
Namrock: I've seen your performance today, Galevan.
Galevan: Once again, I have let you down, master.
Namrock: No you haven't. You have managed to affect the Users mentally. This will be a valuable tool once we know how to use it.
Galevan: And Hexalink?
Namrock: He has served me to the fullest of his potential. I see no further use for him.
Galevan: I agree.
