Herrenvolk

(Mulder lying on the concrete after almost being runover
by a car. He is banged up and the evil clone is standing
over him)
Mulder: Please... you can't kill him. He can't die.
Clone: He must.
Mulder: That girl is my sister.
Clone: He shows you pieces, but tells you nothing of the
whole because he is inconsequential. A traitor to
the project.
Mulder: Kill me, let him go.
Clone: You would trade your life for his?
Mulder: For my mother's.
Clone: Everything dies.
(Mulder and Scully are sitting in Mrs. Mulder's hospital
room)
Mulder: He took me to a place with green fields... and I
saw my sister. She was this little girl. I've seen
too many things not to believe.
Scully: I've seen things too. But there are answers to be
found now. We have hope that there is a place to
start. That's what I believe.
Mulder: You put such faith in your science Scully, but...
the things I have seen, science provides no place
to start.
Scully: Nothing happens in contradiction to nature, only
in contradiction to what we know of it, and that's
a place to start. That's where the hope is.
(Evil Clone and Cancer Man are standing on opposite sides of
Mrs. Mulder's hospital bed, they are alone)
Clone: I need to know the reasons why this should be.
Cancer Man: So that the work may continue. So that the
project may proceed unabated, by removing
an unnecessary obstacle.
Clone: And what obstacle?
Cancer Man: Agent Mulder actually. If his mother were to die
he would... you see, the fiercest enemy is the
man who has nothing to lose. And you know
how important Agent Mulder is to the equation.
(Clone looks down and places his hands on Mrs. Mulder, she
then wakes up from her coma.)
