The Pilot

Mulder: Sorry, nobody down here but the FBI's most unwanted.

Mulder: Do you believe in the existence of 
        *extraterrestrials*?

Mulder: I was under the impression that you were sent to spy 
        on me.

Mulder: So who did you tick off to get stuck with this 
        detail, Scully?

Scully: The answers are there; you just have to know where 
        to look for them.
Mulder: That's why they put the "I" in FBI.

(Scene where Mulder paints large orange X on the ground.)
Scully: What is going on?
(Mulder nonchalantly takes out can of orange spray paint from 
his trunk as Scully watches, and then proceds to paint the 
giant orange X on the ground.)
Scully: What the hell was that?
Mulder: Ah, you know... probably nothing.

(Autopsy scene)
(Mulder rattles off the tests he wants Scully to perform.)
Scully: You're serious?
Mulder: What we can't do here, we'll order to go.


(As their car passes by the orange X for the second time, 
Mulder looks at his watch.)
Scully: You okay, Mulder?
Mulder: Yeah, I'm just uh...
Scully: What are you looking for?
(Loud roar, flash of light, car goes dead and they come to 
a stop.)
Scully: What happened?
Mulder: We lost power... everything.
(Mulder looks at his watch again.)
Mulder: We lost 9 minutes!
(Mulder gets out of car, sees his X, and starts screaming 
with joy.)
Scully: Mulder what?
Mulder: Nine minutes! I looked at my watch just before the 
        flash and it was 9:03. It just turned 9:13. Look, 
        look. Oh yes! (Cheers, sees X again and goes nuts. 
        Gives speech about abductees and losing time.)
Scully: Come on... you're saying time just disappeared? 
        Time can't disappear, it's a universal invariant.
(Car starts... They turn and look.)
Mulder: Not in this zip code.

Mulder: You gotta love this place. Everyday is like 
        Halloween.

(After they see the light.)
Scully: Mulder, what happened? There was a light...
Mulder: It was incredible... (he looks at Scully with a 
        pained face.)
