Data is a full sentient lifeform. He was the second android constructed, the first being Lore.
He was discovered in 2338 by the crew of the Tripoli.
He mimicks humanoid form. Contains approximately 24.6Kg of Tripolymer Composites, 11.8Kg of Molybendenum-Cobalt alloys, and 1.3Kg of Bioplast Sheeting. His upper spinal support is Polyalloy, while his skull is composed of Cortemide and Duranium. He has a functioning respiratory system (for thermal regualtion), pulse that distibutes Biochemical lubricants and regulated microhydraulic power through his boby. His hair is even capable of growth at a controllable rate. He doesn't require food. Programming includes a strong inhibition against harming living beings.
He previously served aboard the USS Trieste before becoming the operations manager aboard the Enterprise-D. He was temporarily given command of the USS Sutherland in Picard's Armada in 2368 during the Klingon Civil War.
In 2366, Data created an android daughter called Lal (meaning beloved in Hindu).
His greatest wish is to become human.
He attended Starfleet Academy in 2341.
In 2063 he was tempted by the Borg Queen's offer for just 0.68 seconds, during which time he came closer to humanity than he thought possible by the gift of flesh!
